Rotary in the Community: Easter Egg Project

As Easter 2026 approached the Rotary Club of Portsmouth North purchased a number of giant Easter Eggs which were distributed free to shops and businesses around the Portsmouth North area. The eggs were then raffled by each recipient and the money raised was then donated to their own charities. This process has proved to be a great way for Rotary to increase it’s support for local communities and directly benefit the charities they support.

The monies raised for Easter 2026 were:

Tesco North Harbour for British Heart Foundation, Cancer Research and Dementia UK – £150.

QA hospital for the League of Friends – £250.

Independent Financial Solutions (IFS) Emsworth for The Rainbow Centre – £98.

Rowlands Castle Golf Club for the Rosemary Foundation – £150.

Eight Financial Advice for the Eight Foundation – £156.

Material Things Farlington for Alzheimer’s Research – £161.

The grand total was £965. Many thanks to everyone involved in supporting the Rotary Club of Portsmouth North in  this innovative fund Raising effort which has benefitted 8 charities.
