The Rotary Club of Portsmouth North was visited recently by Mike Morell, a Trustee of The LifeHouse charity in Portsmouth. The Life House stands as a vibrant community hub committed to nurturing and uplifting the local population. Established with the core belief that everyone deserves access to support, guidance, and opportunities, The Life House has become synonymous with compassion, empowerment, and positive change. Its purpose is to serve the homeless and vulnerable communities of Portsmouth and Southsea, helping to relieve the impact of poverty.

The Centre provides a wide range of free support services including hot meals and essential items such as sleeping bags, blankets and warm clothes for those sleeping rough. Their support does not end there, however, as the Centre also provides practical assistance and emotional support, helping those in need to navigate the complexities of modern life. This service includes advice on a range of issues, including housing, benefits, employment, and debt management. Counselling sessions are offered to provide support for the mental and emotional wellbeing of their visitors. The centre also hosts courses on digital literacy, CV writing, and other employability skills to help individuals improve their prospects.

Over the years, The Life House Portsmouth has become a vital resource for local people facing various challenges. By providing a non-judgemental and supportive environment, it has helped countless individuals overcome adversity, build confidence, and forge new social connections.
